Towards the end of last year, United Utilities replaced the main, underground pipeline on Leasowe Road going towards Wallasey Village then along to Grove Road, much of this work was necessary to add to the sewer capacity. They’ve now completed the work and left.
I would have expected them to make good any areas which they dug up, but this has not been the case with the roundabout at Wallasey Village, which is normally landscaped but now resembles a mud bath.
Apparently, United Utilities (due to an agreement with the Council) aren’t obliged to ‘make good’ as far as grass is concerned, but they will come back in the spring and sprinkle some grass seeds!
Well, that isn’t good enough, I could sprinkle grass seed, the area needs to be made good with re-turfing and re-planting as soon as possible. I’ve spoken to the Director of Streetscene and lodged a formal complaint – I wont be leaving it there – watch this space.
