Seacombe Community Centre
This lunchtime, along with Cllr Denis Knowles, I visited the Seacombe Community Lunch Club, in Ferry View Road, Seacombe and met the pensioners, centre users and Pauline, a volunteer who has helped out there for over 30 years.
The Community Centre opened in 1973 and is still going strong. It has great facilities, as well as running the daily lunch club (£2 for a three course meal), there are various activities for nursery children and youngsters, including indoor football.
The QM2 was visiting Liverpool for the first time and we couldn’t have had a better view from the community centre which overlooks the Mersey. Denis and I have been invited back and we’ll be going again soon.
