Ss Peter and Paul’s Church, New Brighton
The campaign to save the Ss Peter and Paul’s Church is still ongoing, and this morning I was out in Liscard Town Centre helping the organisers and Cllr Tony Pritchard collect a petition to re-open the Church. Although the Church closed in August, campaigners are determined not to give up. The Sunday Telegraph has backed the camapaign and says, ‘It is important that we support all churches in this country as places of prayer for the benefit of the entire community’.
The building must also be protected against vandalism. I don’t want this famous landmark and listed building to meet the same end as Liscard Hall which was demolished earlier this year after becoming unsafe after it was set on fire.
