I very much welcome the arrest of a female, charged with the robbery of a 92-year-old Seacombe resident last month. Police charged the suspect and she has now been remanded in custody.
This is good news in what was a horrific and sickening crime. I hope that we will see the guilty person given a sentence for this offence. A 92-year-old, who gave much of her life to community work was robbed when she was most vulnerable.
Along with my colleague, Cllr Ian Lewis, we called to see the victim, who we knew, and offered what support we could in the circumstances. Should the person in custody be found guilty and imprisoned, then it will be one less scumbag on the streets.
