Post Office Card Account
I called into the local Post Office on Wallasey Road this afternoon and spoke to Jayne, the sub-postmaster there, to see how the petition on saving the Post Office Card Account was going. I’ve been a regular customer for a long time – infact more years than I can remember!
If you’re one of the 4 million customers who use the Post Office Card Account and want to save it, go to your Post Office and fill in a petition, like I did, asking the Government not to transfer it to another organisation. They’ve almost run out of petitions in my local post office and it’s the same at the main post office in Liscard, but they’re ordering more, so do complete one next time you’re there.
Every time someone uses the card, the sub-postmaster receives a small payment from the Government. This is worth up to 12% or some sub-postmasters’ pay and it’s the reason why some branches can still survive.
