Crossing on Seabank Road?

Seabank Road next to Mariner’s Park, is a busy, dangerous road in need of attention. Last year, one of the New Labour Councillors for this area submitted a petition calling for a pedestrian-controlled crossing. However, Cllr Leech lost his seat in the recent elections.
Karen Hayes has replaced him and, on such an important issue, we put Party politics aside and offered our full support on this issue.
Last week, we learned that the council carried out a survey of the traffic on the road and agree that action is required. However, they have placed this at number 33 on a list, with schemes in Birkenhead ahead of us. At the moment the council is only planning to provide crossings at the top two sites, as such, it is unlikely that a crossing at this site will be provided this year.
However, Karen and I will continue to lobby the council as we feel that residents need to be able to cross the road safely.
